The government has unveiled a number of measures to ensure greater transparency in dealing with the influx of international aid it has received as a result of the October 10-16th flood. These include requiring government agencies to report on all activities on their website, holding a press conference detailing the government's actions and setting up a telephone number to allow citizens to report problems. While we expect teething problems, we believe this action represents a positive first step in encouraging greater transparency and if carried through, may encourage us to revise up the country's political risk rating.
