Panama received a diplomatic and commercial visit by Barbados's government officials from October 18-26, as the Caribbean island officials sought to enhance trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. Bentley Gibbs, Barbados's permanent secretary in the foreign trade division outlined that while Panama is not a new destination market for his country, stronger links have been difficult in the past due to administrative and technical barriers.
