Boost Ahead, But Risks Remain

A recent uptick in investment in Suriname's port infrastructure, high global commodity prices for the nation's natural resource exports and Fitch's upgrade of the sovereign's foreign currency credit rating to B+, should provide a boost to the country's external accounts, and growth outlook. However, the country's low political risk rating, and rising inflation continue to pose risks.
