Political Risk Downgrade As Threats Increase

As Honduras continues to face an internal security crisis caused by the uptick in drug trafficking throughout the country, recent developments in the north have prompted a downward revision of our proprietary short-term political risk rating. A continued uptick in violence could prompt further downgrades as we believe the government lacks the resources to confront the international drug gangs.
