Opposition Boost For 2012

BMI View: A dramatic victory for the opposition Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) in the July 3 state elections is a strong signal of voter preferences for next year's general elections. We now believe the biggest challenge to the PRI's electoral hopes comes from the political left, although in our view the Partido de la Revolución Democrática is unlikely to gain enough support to seriously affect the result.
