Radical Steps To Boost FDI Over Long Term
February 2011 | Economic AnalysisThe approval by the Honduran congress of a constitutional amendment that in theory allows a number of charter cities to be built in the country could attract considerable amounts of foreign direct investment (FDI) and provide a much-needed boost to economic growth. However, we are sceptical about the feasibility of the project, and caution that escalating violent crime and political instability will remain serious deterrents to potential investors.
